When my family lived in the neighborhood about 7 years ago, this was one of our favorite spots to go to. I like authentic hole in the wall restaurants because they often have great value, and this place did not disappoint!

The food was absolutely good. The portions were sizable. They didn't cheat us on the food. The restaurant is clean, and the people there were very hospitable. This is my place of choice to purchase my Asian/Chinese food from now on. I have to drive far. However, it's worth it. Totally Satisfied Customer!!!

So, 4 stars for super affordable food, 2 stars for ambiance. More a take out place that is only frequented by elderly old men eating in. That's the sole demographic. $1.50 Portuguese egg tarts were delightful. Other entrees were alright but seriously low priced from $6.50 to $12.50. Good place to get takeout after splurging on a designer purse or high-end steakhouse or whatever your lifestyle creep is.

We had good memories of this place from the last time we were in Chicago and stayed at the Spring Hill Suites next door. So when we were back in Chinatown this time, we had to stop by and get some boba from here. We remembered it being fresh and flavorful and that exactly what it was this time. We got strawberry and mango boba and it was made fresh for us. They use real fruit and you can taste it. Its a small place with counter service and the lady behind the counter was friendly. She let us know (even though we remembered from the last time) that it was a cash only place. Even though the place is small, it was clean and the tables and chairs were being put away. It was close to close o'clock and I am guessing they were getting done for the day. There were still a couple customers waiting for that takeout. We haven't been disappointed with their boba. Admittedly, we haven't tried anything else here. But the boba is spot on.

I love the crispy rice noodle crepe! They have very limited dim sum menu but their price is more affordable than others. The place is kind of self serve. You order and you can sit there and eat. This place accepts cash only. Most of the places are anyway in Chinatown. If you are going to Chinatown, make sure you have cash and comfortable shoes because it is fun to walk around. If you are in a big group, this is not the place to go but there are plenty others to go to. Hope you have a great adventure.

If you're craving rice rolls (cheung funn) with chicken & preserved turnip, this is THE place!!! It's a quaint little cafe with just a few tables. Their turnaround rare is usually great! I absolutely love their baby cakes (20 pieces) in a plastic bag ... these are a must try as a snack!!! I'm hooked! Their tomato pineapple fried rice is to die for!! I've been going for decades even when Covid hit!

Tasty Place is a small, but cozy and affordable place for food. It is cash only, but you won't need a lot to be filled c; They have a great rice box menu as well as traditional Chinese food takeout items. Also highly recommend their fresh soy milk! It is not too sweet and goes great with all the food. TIP: There is usually just one lady out front who takes all the orders, packs the food, serves, and cleans, so be patient with her and she'll take good care of you! TIP 2: You can virtually get any combo of foods in regards to meat and veggies for your rice boxes/ noodles. There might just be a small fee and you have to ask the lady (;

The menu at Tasty Place is extensive, with a wide range of dishes to choose from. I started with the hot and sour soup, which was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. For my main course, I tried the orange chicken, and it was a revelation. The chicken was tender and juicy, with a tangy orange glaze that was simply delicious. What sets Tasty Place apart is the quality of their ingredients. The flavors are authentic and bold, with each dish expertly prepared to perfection.
